Goshen began the half shooting a pair of technical free throws, opening on a 5-0 run before a Wiley layup snapped the spree. Marian ended the first half shooting near 50 percent from the field, but 11 turnovers in the first half helped Goshen hold a lead at halftime. The Knights held a share of the lead for six of the final seven minutes in the half, but a three-pointer in the final minute from Greg Johnson pushed the Leafs on top 39-36 at intermission. The offense heated up for both teams as the clock ticked under 10 minutes, with the Maple Leafs connecting on three straight deep shots to take their first claim of the lead. A deadball rebound on the ensuing possession kept Marian on the attack, and Luke Gohmannpushed his team back in front after splitting a pair of free throws.
A Christian Harveytrey gave Marian a 12-6 lead as the clock dropped under the 15 minute mark, but Goshen would claw back tying the game 14-14 with 11:40 left in the half. The Knights got off to a slow start as played their first game in over two weeks, but after shaking off the rust Marian established a rhythnm with five quick points in transition. Men's Basketball - The Marian men's basketball team will play their final game before the holidays in south Flordia, as they take on Florida National University in Hialeah, Fla., on Sunday December 19 at 2 p.m. Marian will then come home for the final home game of the 2021 calendar year, taking on their third straight opponent from the WHAC in Rochester University, hosting the Warriors on December 21 at 6 PM. Women's Basketball - The Marian women's basketball team will play just two games before taking a holiday break, as they travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan on Saturday to play Concordia (Mich.) at 5 p.m. Marian will also wrestle against Concordia, Doane, and Oklahoma City before breaking for the holidays. The Knights will take on four teams either ranked or receiving votes in the NAIA Coaches' Poll, and start their day taking on Texas Wesleyan.
